deadly sentence

sounds pitiful,
but a fear of a sentence;
that's different.

it depends on the
sentence, -or- the perons,
-or- the situation,
but it can still be deadly.

for a girl whose life,
is about gossip and guys -- 
the words "i'm dumping you",
can leave a scar.

for a cancer patient,
whose fear of death
kept him hiding,
'you're going to die' is
even more frightening.

for a person,
who has hidden their face
from every eye,
their voice
from every ear,
one with few friends
and barely talks to them;

someone who'd rather cower
in a corner
than speak to anyone else;

to someone like this,
the words 'i hate you'
have a huge impact.

they find themselves 
to be of no worth
to that person,
or any at all,
even when they're worth more.

and they cower ecen
further into a corner,
and sometimes 
make blood run from
their wrists.

people like this
need more than a 
hateful sentence
to be that way.

they just need
someone to mean it.

a word is harmless,
but a sentence is
deadly.
